•  Do you want Treatment that Will Astound and helpYou ? BY THE TIME IT TAKES YOU TO READ THIS PAGE YOU WILL HAVE THE ANSWER,

The only self-help video I found for headaches (which was much more complicated, and took much longer to work) was $49.00. I also found an 8-week class online for $70 (Yikes! How complicated is THAT technique?!! And who wants to wait eight weeks to improve the quality of their life?)

  • Is Acupuncture effective for relieving headaches, back and neck pain?

Posted by admin on September 12th, 2009 and filed under chronic daily nejm Headaches | 1 Comment »

Over the years I have seen my a doctor, chiropractor and a massage therapist regarding my headaches and back and neck pain. I have had some success with all of them but still not enough to be satisfied. I am now looking at acupuncture and am curious if it would yield positive results.
Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can often be effective in treating chronic pain conditions and headaches. Further, idiopathic pain often responds to acupuncture better than conventional treatments. If the back and neck pain are a result of structural deformations, such as a herniated disc, acupuncture will not make the pain go away for good. It would however help in long term management of the pain. Acupuncture is a therapy process, and you must be ready to commit to a course of treatments over a period of time. Once will usually garner only very minor and very temporary changes in your condition. I personally recommend 4 to 6 treatments in the beginning to establish how your body and condition will respond to treatment. If you have no results, or minimal results after 4 to 6 treatments you may want to explore other health-care treatments.

she gave me meds for inflamation which isn’t working. My husband thinks it’s a pinched nerve, but my right arm does not even swing when I walk. I have not hurt myself or been injuried. I will have some tests done soon but I am wondering if anyone else knows what this might be. Thanks

Are you presently taking, or recently have taken, any antibiotics?

my pupils are unequal, noticed after i coughed, i have a mild headache, (back of neck and eyes sore)?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under chronic daily nejm Headaches | 3 Comments »

Have your pupils always been unequal, or is this a new problem? If it is new, have you recently had any trauma to the head or neck? It is not uncommon to have a headache when you have a persistant cough… all in all, schedule a doctor appointment asap.

Sinus infection, ear infection, headache, back of neck is stiff?

Posted by admin on February 27th, 2010 and filed under chronic daily nejm Headaches | 5 Comments »

I did go to a Dr. they ask whats wrong, I tell them. They give me antbiotics , There Not working! Did I miss read my simtoms ? Dr checked my ears other than that Never checked me at all. Pain in neck ,ears, and head getting worse. Sinus infection & neck stiffness 2 months now, so sick of it. What can I do ?

Go back to the doctor. Ask for throat culture. There were recently two meningitis cases locally in NY – probably not what you have but if you mention the word, it will motivate them to do a wider battery of tests. Just in case.

Doctors are overworked and like to do fast diagnosis, fast disposal of cases. And in many instances, they are right and all is well. When it is not, however, you have to stand up and make noise and let the doctor know you are not satisfied.

What can cause bad headaches/painful pulling at the back of the head/neck?

Posted by admin on February 21st, 2010 and filed under chronic daily nejm Headaches | 2 Comments »

I’m 20 years old and I get very bad headaches/pain at the back of my head every so often. Sometimes I’ll just be doing something when I feel this great painful pulling sensation at the back of my headache, near my neck. It stays for a couple of minutes before dulling and disappearing. But it keeps happening and I don’t know what causes them or why. Should I see a doctor? Or is this just me being too stressed/tired?

A back-of-the-head and near-neck pain can be called a "cluster headache", especially if it expandes and is in several radiating areas. I had them for 3 years straight, and it was living hell, for real.
One doctor diagnosed it as "Cervical spinal migraines" and I think he was making it up and was wrong. We tried 2 diff. types of pain-killing minimally-invasive surgeries (one facet injection and one radio-frequency proceedure, which microwaves the nerves in that area, but it didn’t work, and was about $8k!). Anyhow, you’re very lucky if they’re short-duration.
I’d see a doctor and DISCUSS (maybe not tell them ,because doctors, some, are too proud and believe they will know much more and much better than any patient, ever) with the doc the "possibility" of having these mentioned types of head/neck pains.
Get a set of x-rays perhaps, or an MRI if ya have insurance.
But, if these have longer durations, then you may have what I had, and BTW, I think mine were caused by a series of several bad car wrecks.
The natural ways to help are anti-inflammatory fruits- namely MonaVie or Freelife’s GoChi or TaiSlim beverages. They’re not cheap, but neather is Maxalt nor Imitrex. Migraines and such are VERY expensive to treat…so maybe just drink lots of smoothies or eat exotic fruits, or ones rich in anti-inflammatory properties.
    Good luck,

I have facial weakness due to an accident my neck, back, and head has been hurting for 30 days?

Posted by admin on February 18th, 2010 and filed under chronic daily nejm Headaches | 3 Comments »

I have been to Er doctor 3 times and they have diagonoised me with post-concussion, post-tramatic stress, and spinal injury. I have been having headaches, neck pain, and back problems that extend from lower back to my upper back. I am only 19 years old and these doctor seem like they dont know what they are doing. Can someone please help its been over 30 days of pain. I been going to chiropractor. I am a college student, I had to drop out this semester from college because of the accident. I been have memory loss, concentration problems and headaches.

Stop going to the chiropractor. Also, stop going to the ER. Most likely your problem is neurological. Make an appointment with a Neurologist. He will be able to run more tests and is much more knowledgeable in your problem than the ER doctor.

What should I do about neck/back pain after car crash?

Posted by admin on February 15th, 2010 and filed under chronic daily nejm Headaches | 4 Comments »

I was in a crash a month ago. My car was totaled. Luckily, I did not break any bones. Now, I am dealing with trouble sleeping, headaches, neck, and back pain. I was given a small amount of Hydrocodone, which works, but my doctors are super paranoid about prescribing it because of addictive properties, so I am now taking muscle relaxers and Ibuprofen. They do not help enough. Also, the pain stresses me out and makes me angry. I called my neck/back doctor after hours and he said why did’nt you call earlier. I told him I was trying to struggle through the pain, but it was getting too much. Needless to say he was not very sympathetic, and told me to call in the morning if I was still in pain. He said he does not do anything about headaches because he is a back/neck doctor, if my head was bothering me he said to go to the ER. I hate dealing with my doctors, it is torture. I usually go to a MD 1 or 2 times a year for the cold/flu. I dread the day when I am old.

I went through the same thing over two years ago. My car was totaled and I had no broken bones.

Like the previous answer, I am surprised that your neck/back doctor didn’t associate your headaches with your neck problem. I saw my spine doc Monday, due to increased neck pain and major headaches (occipital – back of the head) and he immediately knew that they were part of the neck problem – cervical headaches, or occipital neuralgia. Two little injections and I have some relief.

See another doctor about the headaches.

Have you had a full evaluation since your accident, not just with the neck/back doctor? Whiplash can affect everything from your brain to your lower back. If you don’t get treated now, the problems you are having are more likely to become chronic.

I asked my doctor to refer me to the spine program in that health system. This is when things started getting better. They have a multidisciplinary spine treatment program, which includes seeing my spine doc, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and seeing a psychologist for chronic pain.

I hope this doesn’t become chronic for you. There may not be an easy solution, and I wish you the best. Again, get treatment now, or it is more likely to become chronic.

    Good luck.

Something for headaches and neck pain?

Posted by admin on February 6th, 2010 and filed under chronic daily nejm Headaches | 6 Comments »

Is there a home remedy I can get that will help headaches or neck pain. Might be stress related but not sure.

    Hi arkangel,
Tension-type headaches are simply caused by overstraining of muscles. That can be strain of the eyes, face, teeth or muscles in the neck for instance. Relaxation and massage of these muscles can bring immediate relief. Vascular headaches are caused by a dysfunction of the blood flow in the head. For still unknown reasons the blood vessels in the head take too much blood, dilate too much and causes the pain. Narrowing the arteries brings relief.

Natural headache remedies which can influence these causes can bring pain relief. Here is an overview of what you can do. Many of the following tips are also useful in preventing headaches or migraines. Some are good to fight the pain when the headache has started already:
    1. Affect the blood circulation by taking a hot/cold bath or shower, making a cold compress to your forehead, a hot or cold compress to your neck or/and put your feet in hot/cold water.
    2. Feverfew tee has been a well known migraine treatment since centuries.
    3. Drink a cup of strong coffee. The caffeine narrows the arteries.
    4. Lavender and peppermint can relax. You can drink a tea or apply the oils to your temples, neck and hairline. Please see full article: http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/Natural_Headache_Relief/
